Unveiled back in April, the 7.7-inch version of Toshiba Excite has just received the long-awaited Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade.

The guys over at AndroidCentral report that the update is about 348MB in size and is pushed OTA (over the air), as we speak.

Obviously, the Jelly Bean upgrade is rolled out in waves in various regions, so not all Toshiba Excite 7.7 owners might get it at the same time.

Initially launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, Toshiba Excite 7.7 is getting the promised Jelly Bean upgrade five months after it hit shelves.

It appears that Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean brings the new “hybrid UI,” which is also integrated within the Nexus 7 tablet. Aside from that, several new features and improvements are included in the update as well.
