The update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages

UK-based carrier Three has just announced the long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for HTC One X is now available for download.

Some carriers in the country already released the update, but Three’s customers were left out from the initial rollout of the upgrade.

Beginning today, HTC One X owners who purchased their devices via Three UK will be able to download and install the Jelly Bean upgrade.

However, before attempting to install the updates users should make sure their phone’s battery is fully charged and that they have backed up their personal data.

Those who have yet to be notified on the update can manually check for it by going to Settings / About phone / Software updates / Check now.

Given the fact that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in waves, not all HTC One X owners will receive it at the same time.
