The official game of based on Robert Kirksman's comic series, The Walking Dead has just hit iOS platform. The new title from Skybound quickly made it to 28 on the top paid apps on iTunes a few hours after it got released.

The Walking Dead: Assault will made from a series of episodes that will be released in the future, possibly on a regular basis.

The first episode is called “Days Gone Bye” and beginns the moment Rick awakes in hospital in issue #1 of the comic series.

The game is built as a squad-based survival horror and includes special content including artwork and wallpapers for iOS devices, which can be unlocked by completing bonus objectives and challenges.

According to developers, the next episodes, “Safety Behind Bars” and “Fear The Hunters,” will included other key locations described in the comic series, as well as more characters.

The Walking Dead: Assault is now available for download via App Store at a low introductory price of $2/€2 for launch week. Check it out here.
