Sony Xperia P owners are still waiting for their promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, but the Japanese company is still mum on the exact release date.

However, we’ve just received information that points to a possible mid-May release for the long-awaited Jelly Bean update.

XperiaBlog reports that Australian carrier Telstra plans to release Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Sony Xperia P on May 14.

According to the carrier’s updated scheduler, the initial submission of the update has been delayed until April 12, which is the possible reason for such a late release.

Obviously, Sony may kick off the rollout of the Jelly Bean upgrade earlier than Telstra, especially that unbranded smartphones are always among the first to receive any major update. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
