After countless delays Canadian carriers Bell and TELUS have just started the rollout of the long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.

The slate was initially launched with Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform out of the box and received several maintenance updates, but nothing major.

Today, the folks over at MobileSyrup were able to confirm with Bell and TELUS that Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet was finally receiving the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

The update should be pushed through OTA (over the air) in stages, so we expect it will take some time until all Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE owners receive it.

Rogers is the only carrier that has yet to offer the upgrade to its Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE model, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
