Owners of a Galaxy Note II smartphone on the network of wireless carrier T-Mobile should start receiving a small software update for their devices, new reports on the matter suggest.

Nothing has been officially announced on what the new firmware release would bring to devices, but TmoNews suggests that this might be the security flaw fix that Samsung promised not too long ago for its Exynos-based Galaxy handsets.

Additionally, the news site notes that the new software might be set to unlock the LTE capabilities that Galaxy Note II came to the market with, so as to make it compatible with the upcoming T-Mobile 4G network.

Apparently, the update arrives on devices with baseband version T889UVALL4, while weighing 8.74MB. Keep an eye on this space for more on the new software.
