It's been more than a year since T-Mobile launched its carrier-branded Xperia Z1, and the last major OS upgrade dates back to November 2014.

Although Xperia Z1s was launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system right out of the box, T-Mobile and Sony upgraded the smartphone to Android 4.4.4 KitKat late last year.

Since most of Xperia Z devices have already received the long-awaited Lollipop upgrade, it make sense that the Xperia Z1s to get it as well.

But, as always, carrier-branded devices take longer to update because network operators have to test them first and give their blessing if everything is ok.

Well, it looks like today is the day for Xperia Z1s owners, as XperiaBlog reports Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is now being pushed OTA (over the air) in waves. This means that it might take up to a few days until it reaches all devices.

Keep in mind that the update is only compatible with T-Mobile's Xperia Z1s (C6916) and will update your phone's software to version 14.5.B.0.236, based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

However, if you simply can't wait for the OTA update, you can always download it manually, as XperiaBlog has mirrored the file. Have fun with your new Lollipop OS.
