On Monday, wireless carrier T-Mobile has started to deliver a new software update for the owners of Nokia Lumia 521 devices on its network, providing them with a new feature, namely Wi-Fi Calling.

The update was announced earlier this month, yet its deployment started only this week, set to be completed in a matter of days.

“On May 20, a software update to Software version 1030.6409.1316.0016 will be released for the Nokia Lumia 521. The software update, which will be available by Over The Air (OTA), will add Wi-Fi calling,” T-Mobile announced.

The company also explains that users will need to perform a master reset following the update, which means that they need to back up all data on the handset before proceeding, so that no important files are lost in the process.

Users will receive a notification on the update’s availability, yet they can also check for it manually, through going to phone update > check for updates, as wp7connect reports.
