As expected, T-Mobile has just kicked off the rollout of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z3. Although the Japanese handset maker delivered the upgrade for the unlocked version of the smartphone a while ago, the Magenta carrier took some time to test it before making it available.

The good news is Lollipop doesn't come with just the usual features. T-Mobile confirmed that Android 5.0.2 Lollipop should also bring VoLTE (voice over LTE) improvements, as well as Band 12 support.

Last but not least, some improvements to device stability in some certain case scenarios have been implemented as well.

According to T-Mobile, the update will be rolled out OTA (over the air) beginning June 3. The software update will upgrade the phone's software to Android version 5.0.2/ Build 23.1.C.0.385. It's also worth mentioning that the update is also available through Sony PC Companion over Wi-Fi only.

If you haven't been notified on the update yet, you can manually check for it by going to All apps / Update center / System.

Make sure your phone's battery is at least 50% charged and that you have enough storage (file size is 636MB). It's also recommended to back up your data from the phone before upgrading.
