Sony has already launched Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for lots of its Xperia Z smartphones, but those owning carrier-branded smartphones weren't so lucky.

They will have to wait until operators test these updates and give the green light, which usually takes a lot of time. The same goes for T-Mobile's Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z3, which have yet to taste Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The good news is that the update might arrive soon on both handsets, at least judging by T-Mobile's latest statements concerning Android 5.0 Lollipop for Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z3.

Well, it looks like the Magenta carrier has recently confirmed that is now testing Android 5.0 Lollipop for both handsets.

Unfortunately, there's no telling how long it will take for T-Mobile to finish the testing, but if nothing wrong happens, Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z3 owners might receive the update very soon.

Among the new changes and improvements included in the update, Sony will also add LTE Band 12 (700MHz) support for Xperia Z3. Still, it's a bit unclear whether the new feature will be included in the Android 5.0 Lollipop, or it will be part of a separate update.

Anyway, we will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
