The update should have improved SMS and MMS experience

Earlier this week, US-carrier T-Mobile announced that it had started the rollout of a minor update for Samsung Galaxy S5 users. Unfortunately, what appeared to be a minor improvement for one of the smartphone's features suddenly turned into a major issue.

The carrier announced soon after update G900TUVU1ANE5 was released to Galaxy S5 owners that it was not available anymore. Even though it has not offered any explanations yet, it appears that some T-Mobile Galaxy S5 owners who captured the update started to experience slow download speeds.

In addition, those who updated with the latest version of the software provided by T-Mobile have confirmed that they have noticed decrease in LTE coverage.

For the time being, the only information provided by T-Mobile is that “Samsung Galaxy S 5 Software update to G900TUVU1ANE5 via OTA or Kies has been paused.”

For those unfamiliar with update G900TUVU1ANE5 delivered OTA (over the air) or Samsung Kies desktop software, this was supposed to improve “intermittently incoming SMS/MMS failure.”

The carrier has also promised that it will offer more details on the matter via its forum, as soon as they become available. That being said, there's no telling when exactly T-Mobile will resume the update, but we will keep an eye out for any new info, so stay tuned for more.
