It looks like T-Mobile and LG decided to give the Gingerbread update for the G2x another go, as both companies announced on their sites’ they have started to roll out the upgrade.

This is the second time that LG deploys the Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the T-Mobile G2x, but hopefully this time the handset maker will get it right.

Several months ago, after LG and T-Mobile rolled out the Gingerbread upgrade for the G2x, people that installed the update reported random reboots, poor life battery and other critical issues that almost made the smartphone unusable.

The update is now available OTA (over the air) and promises to improve the battery life, the front facing camera when using Qik and disabling of Car Home.

It will also bring the phone’s firmware to version Android 2.3 and will also help address some of the issues that arose after the previous update.
