Rumors on the next update for Windows Phone 8 platform emerged several weeks ago, but not clear time frame for its release has been confirmed until today.

The first carrier to offer the so-called Portico update for Windows Phone 8 devices is T-Mobile USA. The operator has just announced on its support site that a maintenance update will be available for HTC 8X on December 19.

According to T-Mobile USA, the update brings some bug fixes that address issues with Bluetooth connectivity, and being incorrectly routed to tethering upsell pages when browsing.

In addition, the software update to OS version 8.0.10211.204 and firmware version 1532.20.20004.531 will add some stability improvements.

T-Mobile USA customers with HTC 8X devices will receive this Windows Phone 8 update OTA (over the air), but they can also manually request it from the servers by going to Phone update / Check for updates.
