He also challenges AT&T, Verizon and Sprint CEOs to do the same

It all started a few weeks ago when several pro golf tour players have begun challenging each other over pouring a bucket full of ice water over their heads. Given the fact that it’s summer, what better way to cool you off than cold, cold water?

Shortly after, the so-called Ice Bucket Challenge, which was started to combat ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), gained ground and is now trending on all social network services.

Some of the major figures in the IT, telecom, social media joined the charity campaign with the sole purpose of raising awareness on this lethal disease called ALS.

Earlier today, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated three other people that would join the challenge in the next 24 hours: his Facebook partner Sheryl Sandberg, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and Microsoft’s Bill Gates.

Recently, T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere took on the Ice Bucket Challenge and he, why am I not surprised, challenged the CEOs of AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint, who now have 24 hours to comply or donate to ALS charity campaign.

We urge everyone who can afford it to visit the ALS Association’s website and donate. According to the org’s officials, the ASL Association raised no less than $1.35 million (€1 million) in the past two weeks thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge, which is considerably more than last year when it only raised $22,000 (€16.400).
