The smartphone is said to arrive at Sprint “later this year”

Bad news for Sprint customers waiting for some BlackBerry 10 love. Although the carrier announced several weeks ago that it would support BlackBerry 10 operating system, Sprint has just confirmed it will not bring the Z10 to its customers.

This can only mean two things. Firstly, Sprint customers that prefer all-touch phones over QWERTY ones will have to look for the Z10 elsewhere.

Secondly, given the fact BlackBerry announced that the Q10 woud be available on the market later this year (April/May), Sprint customers will have to wait a bit longer to grab a BlackBerry 10 device.

Mark Elliott, a Sprint official, tells Bloomberg the carrier thinks its “customers will be happy with the QWERTY keyboard and touch screen on the Q10.”

With BlackBerry Z10 US launch just around the corner, Sprint customers will probably feel frustrated by the fact they won't be able to get their hands on a BlackBerry 10 device just like everyone else.
