It's just a small update that fixes an issue with MMS

Since HTC 8XT has already received the long-awaited Windows Phone 8.1 update a few months ago, owners were probably surprised to see that there's another software upgrade available for them.

The thing is the new update is a minor one, which doesn't bring any new features or improvements. Because HTC 8XT is not among the smartphones eligible for Windows 10 for Phones preview, those who still own this device shouldn't expect any major updates in the near future.

According to Sprint, the latest update for HTC 8XT, software version 3.10.651.09 is meant to address an issue with MMS over LTE. Many users have complained that this feature does not work as intended, so Sprint and Microsoft have found a solution to the issue.

Apart from that, there aren't any other changes mentioned in the release notes, so don't expect any other improvements for the HTC 8XT.

On a side note, it's unclear whether or not Microsoft and Sprint will provide HTC 8XT owners with Windows 10 for Phones when the new OS gets released.

However, there's still time to learn about Microsoft's plans since Windows 10 for Phone is still several months away of its commercial launch, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
