We reported yesterday on the upcoming release of the Jelly Bean update for HTC EVO 4G LTE, though the information was not confirmed at that time.

Today, Sprint announced the long-awaited Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the EVO 4G LTE is now available for download.

According to the carrier, the update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages, which means not all HTC EVO 4G LTE owners might receive it at the same time.

Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean brings improvements to Wi-Fi authentication, personalized ringtones, Face Unlock, better browser performance and enhancements to various applications, including YouTube, Google+, Gmail and Maps.

In order to grab the update before it gets automatically pushed to your device, head over to Settings / System updates / HTC software update / Check now. For the full list of changes included in this update check out the official announcement.
