It looks like Sprint is the first carrier to deliver an Ice Cream Sandwich update for an Android smartphone. Motorola was the first handset maker to bring the upgrade on its Wi-Fi only XOOM tablet, and it looks like the next device to get an official update is Nexus S 4G.

The guys over at AndroidPolice got their hands on a Sprint internal document that confirms Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Nexus S 4G will be available starting February 16.

If the information is accurate, Sprint should start pushing the update OTA (over the air) sometime today. It will be rolled out in stages, which means not everyone will get it today, but there’s always tomorrow.

We will keep you updated with everything there is to know about Android 4.0 for Nexus S, as soon as Sprint starts the roll-out process.
