Android 5.1 has just been announced by Google and the build has been made available for the Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 devices.

Well, if you are the owner of a most recent Nexus 6 smartphone, you’re probably wondering when you will receive the new update yourself, seeing as older-gen models are already enjoying it.

But if you’re with Sprint, you probably don’t have to wait all that long to receive your Lollipop. According to a document posted by the carrier on its official website, the Nexus 6 should see Android 5.1 arrive later today, so make sure you check your phone throughout the day.

According to the information shared with us by the carrier, the Android 5.1 update will bump up your Nexus 6 to build LMY47D.

If the hours go by and you don't receive a notification on your Nexus 6, you can still take the proactive route and go to Settings and then About Phone to manually check if the new build is available for you or not.

Apart from the novelties we expect Android 5.1 to bring along, the update includes the so-called Factory Reset Protection feat, which requires tapping in your Google login details to wipe out the phone.
