Samsung has just released the source code for the Galaxy Note II smartphone. Android enthusiasts and developers will now be able to cook custom ROMs and personalize it as they see fit.

Keep in mind that the published source code is only available for the international version of Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100).

Based on the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean, the Galaxy Note II packs Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz user interface.

However, once the source code goes live, modders can create custom ROMs and remove Samsung’s UI, if they think it “loads” the phone with unnecessary stuff.

Once you install a customized ROM, your Galaxy Note II will be rooted allowing you to change just about any setting in the phone’s software.

The official source code for the international variant of Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) is available for download here.
