Sony Mobile announced at CES 2013 in Las Vegas that its Xperia Z smartphone would be launched in select markets as Xperia ZL, and it seems that Brazil will receive it, though under the name of Xperia ZQ.

The device is now listed on the company’s local website, and Sony Mobile Brazil has already confirmed that the smartphone would be launched in the country during the first half of the year.

Furthermore, the company explained that the Xperia Z model wouldn’t be released in the country, and that only the Xperia ZQ would arrive there.

Apparently, Sony has conducted a research in the country prior to launch, and found out that most people would prefer Xperia ZQ to the international flavor of the phone.

The handset will sport a 5-inch full HD screen, quad-core processor, 13MP camera on the back, and Google’s Android Jelly Bean OS.
