Made official in January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the LTE-enabled Xperia ion smartphone will finally make an appearance on shelves at AT&T this week.
The wireless carrier officially confirmed that it would launch the new device on June 24th, and that users would be able to purchase it for only $99.99 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.
Packing a large 4.6-inch HD Reality display, the smartphone also arrives on shelves with a 1.5Ghz dual-core application processor inside, as well as with 16GB of internal memory.
Moreover, Sony packed it with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, as well as with a 12MP camera with Exmor R for Mobile sensor on the back, with 1080p HD video recording capabilities.
In addition to LTE, the phone offers support for HSPA+ connectivity, as well as HDMI and DLNA capabilities.
