Sony Xperia Z2 is already available for purchase in Australia, but another country in the region is now about to get the flagship smartphone, New Zealand.

According to XperiaBlog, the best smartphone launched this year by Sony, the Xperia Z2, is now available for pre-order in New Zealand for NZ$1,049 outright, which is about $905 or €660.

The bad news is that Sony Xperia Z2 is only available through Vodafone carrier. The good news is that the first 200 customers who pre-order the smartphone with a Red 24-month plan will also receive a free magnetic charging dock, along with free noise cancelling headphones.

For the time being, the device is only available in white and black, but the purple version might be introduced later on as well.

Sony Xperia Z2 is expected to go on sale in New Zealand on May 19, so those who pre-order their smartphones through Vodafone are likely to receive them next week.

The smartphone will ship with Android 4.2.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside.

The phone also packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD memory card.
