The mini version of the popular Sony Xperia Z1 has recently stopped by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and is likely to be announced in the coming weeks.

The folks over at GSMArena have spotted the smartphone at the FCC along with some of its specs. According to the documents filed at the regulatory commission, the smartphone runs software version 14.2.A.0.144 that corresponds to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The smartphone measures 129 x 64.9 mm and is rumored to arrive on the market sometime in Q1 2014 for around $590 (€440) outright.

Unlike the Xperia Z1 that sports a large 5-inch full HD display, the Xperia Z1 mini features a slightly smaller 4.3-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display.

The rest of the phone’s features are almost similar, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and the impressive 20.7-megapixel camera on the back.
