Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan the release of a new series of high-end devices in the beginning of this year, and Xperia Z is one of them.

Previously spotted online under the codename of Yuga, the smartphone is expected to become official next week at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, while being set to become available for purchase soon after.

According to the latest news on the matter, it should sport a price tag of around $650 (€495) when launched, at least in Thailand.

A leaked document that emerged over at SonyXP unveils a price tag of 19,990 Thai Baht for it, which translates into about the aforementioned amount.

Previously, the device was said to land in China in mid-January at 4,298 Yuan ($689 / €520), suggesting that this might be its actual price, though it would differ depending on market.
