Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is currently pushing out a new software update for the owners of Xperia Z devices on the network of wireless carrier Three in Austria, it seems.

The new firmware update is available for download as version 10.5.A.0.233 and should arrive on all Xperia Z C6603 devices at the mobile phone operator, a recent post on XperiaBlog notes.

However, it appears that the update was made available for download only for this carrier-specific version of the handset and that other users out there will not receive it.

Moreover, the aforementioned report claims that Sony has included mainly bug fixes inside the new firmware release. No info on new features being added to the device has been provided as of now, given that a changelog is not available for it.

Unfortunately, no info on whether the update is planned for release in other markets out there has been provided either, though Sony might unveil more on the matter should that be the case.

In the meantime, owners of an Xperia Z on Three Austria should wait for a notification on the new firmware release to arrive on their device. Of course, they can also go to Settings > About phone > Software updates to check on its availability.
