With several hours left until its official release, the Xperia Z has just been spotted at Consumer Electronics Show 2013 (CES) trade fair.

Previously known as Sony Xperia Yuga, the Xperia Z is expected to arrive with a stunning 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Another strong point of the flagship handset is the 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

The Xperia Z will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and will pack a powerful quad-core processor, possibly clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Sony's high-end Android smartphone will be unveiled later today at CES 2013 and is expected to hit shelves in the coming months. No word on the phone's pricing options yet, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
