It's only been a day since we found out Sony Mobile preps a new firmware version for 2011 Xperia smartphones and now it looks like one of the company's latest devices is getting an update.

XperiaBlog reports firmware version 9.0.1.D.0.10 is now pushed to Sony Xperia V handsets. The update is based on the same Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform and embeds kernel 3.0.21.

Unfortunately, aside from replacing the current 9.0.D.0.484 firmware, there are no additional details on the new update.

We suspect Sony included a range of bug fixes and improvements which are meant to improve users’ overall experience and the phone's performance and stability, but we're still waiting for official word.

The Xperia V is expected to receive a Jelly Bean upgrade in the following weeks, but Sony has yet to come forward with more info on the release date. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
