Will the handset receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop?

While most smartphone owners are hoping to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their device (provided its hardware supports it), some handsets are yet to get the Android 4.4.4 KitKat officially.

Last year, the FTP Team pushed the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop build for some Sony Xperia devices including the Xperia T3.

However, users are yet to see Sony roll out the official Lollipop update, but the company assures that Xperia owners will get the new build soon enough.

As for the Xperia T3 smartphone, Sony finally saw it was time to offer the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, reports Xperia Blog. We guess later is better than never.

The new build brings to the tablet a few security updates, the Bluetooth Unlock feature and improved stability. The good news is that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat will go out for both 3G and LTE models of the device.

As it happens with updates like these, the roll out will happen gradually, so don’t fret you haven’t received a notification on your handset yet.

You could check Settings in the Software updates section to see if the update has arrived on your device.

Even though Sony has pushed the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the handset, there’s still no good reason the device shouldn’t get Lollipop, when it comes out for the other slew of Sony devices. After all, the smartphone is barely 7 months old and has good enough hardware.
