Sony isn't exactly the star of the mobile industry these days. Surely, we have heard the company is prepping a new flagship, the Xperia Z4 but rumor has it that the device’s launch will get pushed back to summer.

While we wait on that, Sony might present us with a mid-range offering of sorts which should appeal to budget consumers. We’re talking about the successor of the Xperia E3 which will be launched as the Xperia Z4.

If you were curious how the model will end up looking like, well the folks of Xperia Blog have just shared with us a few renders showing the upcoming handset.

As you can see in one of the images, we’re being shown a phone with slightly larger bezels and a leather case accessory, while in the other we purportedly see the same device complete with a plastic red case.

When it comes to specs, the Xperia E4 should arrive in the wild with a 5-inch display with 940 x 540 pixel resolution and a MediaTek quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz fitted with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

As you can see nothing too impressive, but at least it's going to be a cheap one.

The handset will enjoy a 5MP/1.9MP camera combo and will probably run on Android 4.4 KitKat. No dates have been shared with us about the phone’s release but we might end up seeing it at MWC 2015.
