The major update brings lots of new features and improvements

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo and Sony Mobile have just announced the immediate availability of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Xperia A, also known as Sony Xperia SO-04E.

The new update will bump the firmware to version 10.3.1.B.0.224 and will bring lots of new features and improvements, including preview function for the camera application, as well as transparent UI in menu and status bar.

XperiaBlog also reports that Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update adds native compatibility with DUALSHOCK 3, along with improved Small Apps.

The update is likely to be pushed OTA (over the air) to all Xperia A smartphones at NTT DoCoMo, but users will also be able to upgrade their devices via Sony Companion desktop application.
