Last week, Sony Mobile started rolling out an operating system upgrade for the owners of Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual devices out there, namely Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which provided users with an updated iteration of the Walkman application, namely version 8.4.A.1.5.

Today, the updated mobile app is available for download for the owners of other Xperia smartphones out there as well, as it has already been extracted from the OS upgrade and posted online so that more people could enjoy it.

The software release comes as a minor update over the previously available Sony Walkman 8.4.A.1.4 version, though it should still be able to provide users with an improved experience.

The new Walkman 8.4.A.1.5 iteration is available for download with support for all Xperia handsets running under Android 4.2 and newer platform iterations, a recent post on GizmoBolt reads.

Apparently, those interested in getting the update will be able to install it even if their devices are not rooted. On top of that, said news site claims that the new app flavor also brings along an updated Walkman widget.

For additional info on the mobile application, you should head over to this thread on the XDA-Developers Forum. Download links for the update are available there as well.
