This week, Sony is getting busy with updates once again, as the company has announced it is rolling out a new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop-based firmware (build number 23.1A.1.28) for its Xperia Z2 and Z3 series of devices.

This includes the Z3 flagship, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2, and Z2 Tablet. The update comes to fix some problems introduced by the previous build regarding the easy movement of content from the internal memory to the external microSD card. It also adds an improved messaging functionality and Ultra stamina mode.

Updating your Sony Xperia Z2/Z3 device to the latest in terms of software will ensure that the LED light is lit across all sound modes and the lock screen / notification bar doesn’t give off the “no service” message when the device is in signal range.

Last but not least, the update will bring back the “close-all-button” feature in the activity menu, so you can look for it if you please.

As is the case with such updates, the new firmware will start arriving gradually, so don’t fret if your Sony Xperia device hasn’t received it yet. You can also take the pro-active route and check for it yourself in the Settings section, under Updates.
