Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is reportedly gearing up for the launch of an entry-level 5-inch Xperia smartphone this year, one that might sport the codename of C3, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

According to a post on ePrice, the smartphone will hit shelves with a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor packed inside, and will also sport dual-SIM capabilities.

Running under Google’s Android operating system, the new mobile phone is expected to arrive on the market sometime in the second half of the year, though no specific details on its release date have been provided as of now.

Apparently, the new device will deliver a high-end experience, though it will be priced affordably, and will also be accompanied by other smartphones from the company, including the previously rumored Dogo and Togary.
