Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has started to deliver a new software update for the owners of Xperia E1 devices out there, in the form of firmware version 20.0.A.1.21.

The new software release is expected to arrive on all Xperia E1 (D2004, D2005) handsets out there with a small number of enhancements packed inside, but nothing outstanding.

In fact, the guys over at XperiaBlog note in a recent post that the new firmware is still based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and that the small change in build number (from 20.0.A.1.12 before) confirms that the new release is a minor update.

The new release weighs only 13.1MB and is available for download over-the-air. However, it might not appear on all Xperia E1 handsets right from the start, given that Sony usually pushes updates in stages.

Most probably, the new firmware iteration will provide users with a series of bug fixes, as well as with some performance improvements, yet specific details on the matter haven’t been provided as of now.

Xperia E1 dual is expected to receive a software refresh as well in the not-too-distant future, in the form of firmware version 20.0.B.0.83, yet no details on when it might start arriving have been provided as of now.
