Japanese handset vendor Sony Mobile has started to roll out a new software update for its Xperia P users, namely version 6.1.1.B.1.75, after receiving PTCRB certification in mid-December.

According to a recent post on XperiaBlog, the new software update is set to arrive on all devices that feature the ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset inside.

This means that Xperia P (LT22i), Xperia U (ST25i), Xperia sola (MT27i) and Xperia go (ST27i) are all meant to receive it.

For the time being, however, no specific details on when the new firmware will land on other devices than Xperia P have been provided.

No info on what changes the new software is meant to bring along has emerged either, but more should be unveiled soon, so keep an eye on this space for additional details.
