Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has confirmed that its newly launched Android-based Xperia Z smartphone will arrive on shelves in the Middle East, although a specific release date was not made official as of now.

The confirmation came through Twitter, where Sony Mobile has been answering to users’ inquiries on the availability of the device in various markets around the globe.

Sony’s new flagship device will arrive on shelves with a large 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, as well as with a quad-core processor packed inside, complemented by 2GB of RAM.

Furthermore, it will sport a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back with full HD video recording, as well as with a front camera for making video calls.

Featuring both dust and water resistance, Xperia Z can easily compete with high-end smartphones such as Galaxy S III or Apple’s iPhone, and should help Sony see significant growth in sales.
