Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has confirmed on Twitter that it would bring its new Xperia Z flagship handset to shelves in Canada, in addition to the Xperia ZL.

Just after both handsets were made official on January 7 during the company’s press event at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony Mobile Canada announced that Xperia ZL would arrive on shelves in the country, but said nothing of Xperia Z.

A few hours ago, however, Sony confirmed that both smartphones would be released in the country, although it did not offer specific details on when that might happen (though they should be released before the end of this quarter).

Xperia Z and Xperia ZL were made official with 5-inch full HD screens, quad-core processors inside, 13-megapixel cameras on the back, and Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
