BlackBerry 10 fans rejoice as Skype has just announced that its mobile client is now available for download for BlackBerry Q10, the next smartphone coming soon from the Canadian company.

That’s the good news, but the bad news is that BlackBerry Z10 owners won’t be able to install Skype on their smartphones until the next major update goes live.

According to developers, Skype is only compatible with devices running BlackBerry 10.1 and up, which means it’s only supported on BlackBerry Q10, which is expected to arrive in Canada on May 1.

It is also worth mentioning that this release of Skype is still in preview state, which means that there might be some bugs and issues.

Skype 3.1.439.21 is now available as a freed download via BlackBerry World and should be fully compatible with all devices running BlackBerry 10.1 and up. Check it out here.
