Soon after officially unveiling the new GALAXY S 4 smartphone, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics confirmed that some of the features packed inside this device will make it to last year’s Galaxy S III as well.

In fact, the company confirmed that it would deliver these new capabilities to all other flagship smartphones, as long as the hardware supports them.

“Anything that we can do that's not dependent on hardware like infrared, we'll definitely bring to all the flagship devices,” Nick DiCarlo, Samsung's vice president of portfolio planning, told PCMag.

This suggests that the new Dual Camera feature inside GALAXY S 4 will arrive on the older smartphones as well, along with S-Voice Drive, Smart Pause and Smart Scroll, Air View, and more. Features related to the new IR sensor won’t be ported to last year’s handsets, that’s for sure.
