Verizon Wireless might soon make available for purchase a successor for the Samsung Stratosphere, and the device appears to have already received the necessary approvals from the Global Certification Forum.

Dubbed Stratosphere 2, the handset has been already spotted in a leaked equipment guide with model number SCH-I415 attached to it, and the same device can now be seen on the GCF website.

No official announcement on the new smartphone was made as of yet, but it is expected to hit the market with a QWERTY keyboard and a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, while packing a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM inside.

Moreover, the smartphone is rumored to arrive on shelves with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network, while running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Hopefully, an official announcement will be made in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned.
