The update is available only in Russia, but it will go live in other countries as well

One week after it kicked off the deployment of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005), Samsung quietly started the rollout of the same update for the SM-N9000 model.

According to SamMobile, owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9000) phablet in Russia will be able to upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Russia seems to be the only country where the update is available, but we suspect that Samsung will continue to deploy the upgrade gradually in additional regions as well.

Unlike the Galaxy Note 3 SM-9005 that packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, the SM-9000 model comes with Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset that accommodates a 1.9GHz (Cortex-A15) quad-core processor and a 1.3GHz (Cortex-A7) quad-core CPU.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might not be available to all Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9000 devices at the same time. Obviously, it can be downloaded via Samsung Kies desktop software as well.
