South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has made a new flavor of the Galaxy S III smartphone available for purchase in Germany, one that packs tightened security capabilities, and that features a price tag of €1,700 (around $2,250).

The company has already provided Galaxy users with a series of security enhancements courtesy of Samsung KNOX, which has received approvals from the US Department of Defense, but it seems that people in Germany will get more than that.

According to SamMobile, the high-security version of the Galaxy S III features SiMKo security technology inside, which comes with a so-called L4 microkernel, designed to deliver a limited and secure environment for running specific apps.

This SiMKo iteration of Galaxy S III was made available for purchase for businesses and government agencies, and requires a two-year contract agreement.
