14 DAY TRIAL // Galaxy S5, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from handset vendor Samsung Electronics, will arrive on shelves with support for wireless charging, and the company has already unveiled back covers for it aimed at allowing users to take advantage of the capability.
As the guys over at Phandroid note in a recent post, Samsung announced no less than four different such covers for its users, all packing support for the Qi standard.
Samsung has showcased only the Black and White flavors of the charging covers, which include a standard back plate with a Qi charging module.
Featuring a price tag of $30 (€22), these accessories are accompanied by an S-View Flip Cover model, which also comes in Black and White, and which can be seen in the image embedded above. It sports a price tag of $70 (€51).
Apparently, all four covers have been announced with the same gasket that is part of Galaxy S5’s water-resistance feature. They also sport the same finish as the stock cover for the device, it seems.
Given their support for the Qi standard, these covers should work just fine with any charger that is Qi-compatible. Samsung themselves have already launched such a product.
