Owners of a Samsung Galaxy X Cover 2 GT-S7710 can now download and install the first firmware release for their handsets.

The software has emerged over at SamMobile and is reportedly available for download though their website, based on Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

In fact, this is the same platform release as the one already running on the device, it seems.

The Galaxy X Cover 2 GT-S7710 was launched with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor packed inside, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on its back, with LED flash and HD video recording.

The same as with the latest Galaxy smartphones out there, the device also features Samsung’s own Nature TouchWiz UX loaded on top.
