Galaxy S5, the upcoming smartphone in Samsung’s popular series of Galaxy S handsets, might include yet another interesting feature when launched, namely advanced gesture controls, courtesy of head tracking capabilities.

Samsung has already included a series of gesture-based features inside its smartphones, like Smart Stay and Smart Pause, but it appears set to bring them to a new level with the upcoming flagship device.

As SamMobile notes, the functionality would allow users to control their smartphones by performing gestures such as a nod and a wink.

These details come from a patent application that has been published recently, but which was filed in July 2013, as uncovered by galaxyclub.nl.

This suggests that Samsung might have already started to implement said features inside upcoming smartphones, and that Galaxy S5 might sport them. However, no official confirmation on this has been provided as of now, so take it with a grain of salt.
