Samsung will still post record revenue for the third quarter

Galaxy S4, the latest flagship Android-based smartphone from South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung, is said to be missing the company’s internal sale targets.

The info comes from a report sent to customers by Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, cited by Bussiness Insider, but it does not provide specific info on what caused the lower than expected sales of the device.

However, the report does note that the lower shipment numbers of Galaxy S4 are in Apple’s benefit, as Samsung is compelled to keep the foundry prices on the Cupertino-based company at the same levels.

"Galaxy S4 sales missed internal targets leading Samsung to not raise foundry prices for Apple like we expected," Peter Misek reportedly said.

Although Galaxy S4 is performing weaker than expected, Samsung is believed to post record earnings for the third quarter of the year.
