One of the appealing features that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S IV smartphone has been long rumored to pack is support for wireless charging, and it seems that it has already received certification for the use of the Qi standard.

Although no official announcement on the matter has been provided, a recent post on daum claims that sources familiar with the matter have already confirmed that the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has certified the smartphone with wireless charging capabilities inside.

Some of the previous rumors suggested that Samsung might actually plan on packing the new device with an updated wireless charging technology, to make the entire functionality more efficient than before, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Galaxy S IV is set to be officially launched on March 14 in New York, and Samsung is also said to plan on making public demos of its charging capabilities, so stay tuned.
