File this under rumors until Samsung comes forward with an official statement, but there it is: the original Galaxy Grand might receive an Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade after all.

Samsung issued two statements regarding its KitKat upgrade scheduler and the devices eligible for this update and the Galaxy Grand wasn’t included on either of them.

Now according to SamMobile, the South Korean company might offer Galaxy Grand owner the opportunity to bring their devices up to date on terms of software by releasing an official Android 4.4.2 KitKit ROM.

Samsung Galaxy Grand was launched on the market one year ago and proved to be extremely popular in emerging markets such as India.

The popularity of the smartphone may in fact be one of the reasons Samsung changed its mind and decided to push another major update for Galaxy Grand owners.

The original Galaxy Grand was released with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but recently received an update to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

This means that KitKat would be the third major update for the Samsung Galaxy Grand, and most likely the last. Keep in mind that Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Galaxy Grand has yet to be confirmed by Samsung, so take this info with a grain of salt until then.
