South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is gearing up for the launch of an LTE version of the Galaxy Grand 2 handset, after making the original official last year without support for this network connectivity.

The new flavor of the device will arrive on shelves with model number SM-G7105 attached to it, and has emerged in a user manual (PDF file) on the company’s website. Moreover, SAR information on it was posted on Samsung’s online portal as well.

Apparently, there will be at least two versions of the LTE-enabled Galaxy Grand 2, namely G7105 and G7105L, with the latter expected to be a carrier-specific model, GSMArena notes.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves with the same hardware specifications as the original Galaxy Grand 2, though the chipset could be different. A dual-SIM (3G only) variant of the phone will also be launched.
